Georgios YANNOPOULOS

 

 

Georgios YANNOPOULOS, Assistant Professor for IT Law and Legal Informatics, Director of LLI. Georgios has studied law (LLB) at the University of Athens and has a PhD from the University of London, where he has also taught and  conducted post-doctoral research. In addition, he has professional qualifications in computer programming and system analysis. He is a qualified Lawyer registered to the Athens Bar Association. He is interested in all aspects of the interaction of law with technology and he is involved in numerous projects, among other, regarding Legal Information Systems, Internet Law and Regulation, Cybersecurity, Electronic Signatures and Integrity of Transactions over the Internet, Privacy and Secrecy of Communications,  Data Protection, Electronic Crime and Fraud and Protection of Intellectual Property. His publications include the books:

  • Modelling the Legal Decision Process for IT Applications in Law, 1998 (PhD Thesis)
  • Information Flows in the Internet, Technology & Legal Regulation, 2002 [in Greek] and
  • The Liability of Internet Intermediaries, 2013 [in Greek].
